Precedent Contracts - Law 594A - Contract Drafting: Home

About these precedent contract resources

This guide focuses on finding forms and templates of contracts because

  • these tend to be more balanced (or if preferential to one side, the authors will usually indicate that), and
  • they are written so as to be adaptable to your client’s needs.

You can find examples of negotiated and executed contracts through databases or online, but these tend to be more specific and balanced to the actual parties involved.

If you work for a firm, they may also have a bank of contracts that they have written.

  • Often have up to date and state-specific examples for you to use
  • Often are widely used by practitioners
  • Tend to be cheaper than comparable resources through Westlaw and Lexis
